How to set up an Yealink
On this page, you find the setting you need to set up your Yealink device. It is very important to copy the data exactly as shown in these instructions. If you have a Yealink DECT system, there are some additional steps. Click here to go to the manual for Yealink DECT systems.
Discover the device IP address
- Go to the device’s menu.
- Select Status.
- Use a web browser to go to the telephone’s IP address, on a computer that’s connected to the same network as your telephone.
- Log in using the user name ‘admin’ and the password ‘admin’.
VoIP account settings
- Click on Account.
- Fill in the Account ID of your VoIP account at Register name and User name. To find this information, go to Freedom. Click on Admin and then on VoIP-account. Find the account ID after your VoIP-account.
- By Password, fill in the password for your VoIP-account. In Freedom go to Admin and then to VoIP-account. On the right-hand side under filters change Show password to Yes, and apply. An extra column will appear on your screen with the password to your VoIP-account.

- Fill in the settings shown on the screenshot below.
- Click on Confirm.

Other settings
- Click on Codec.
- Make sure that PCMA (G711.a) is the only codec turned on.
- Click on Confirm.
- Click on Advanced.
- Change the UDP Keep-alive Interval to 15 seconds and change ‘RPort’ to enabled.
- Click on Confirm.
- We advise that you split the local SIP port for each device. Go to the Settings tab and click on SIP to change this. The Local SIP port is depends on your VoIP-account ID. If your account ID is 123400007, then fill in 5067. To get this number you take the last digits of your VoIP ID and add it to 5060. This way you get 5060+007=5067. Now each Local SIP port is unique which is better for your router.
Confirmation
Click on Confirm to enable these settings. You should see ‘registered’ under ‘Register status’.
